[gfarm-announce:00438] Gfarm version 1.2.9 test release available

Hello all,

We decided to announce Gfarm version 1.2.9 test release, which is a
preview release of Gfarm version 1.3 that is planned to be released in
March, 2006.

This release supports PostgreSQL server as a backend metadata server,
which may improve performance more than ten times, at the same time,
the maximum number of files increases more than ten times.  The
default backend metadata server is now postgresql in config-gfarm.

Note that we support PostgreSQL server version 7.4 or later.

Any comment and bug report are welcome.
