[gfarm-announce:10023] ADAGE: a generic deployment tool, now ready to deploy GFarm

Dear GFarm team and GFarm users,

The PARIS Research Group, IRISA/INRIA Rennes, France, is developing a generic tool called ADAGE, to automate the deployment of applications on grid-like architectures. This tool already supports CCM, MPI, JXTA and GFarm applications. The user has to describe the application in a specific language and provide the description of resources that are currently available. ADAGE then handles all the planning, the deployment and the monitoring of the application.

The GFarm plugin for ADAGE already supports GFarm versions 1 and 2, working in user mode.

We are also developing JuxMem, a data-sharing service for the grid based on the JXTA P2P technology. We have set a collaboration with the GFarm team to offer persistent storage to JuxMem and, within this framework, we use ADAGE to co-deploy both JuxMem and GFarm applications on Grid'5000 and Omni testbeds to do our experimentations.
